Burr and Burton Football wins State Championship
(by Tory Rich of The Manchester Journal):
RUTLAND — The Burr and Burton Academy Bulldogs are Division I Football Vermont State Champions. The Bulldogs held on for another hard-fought victory, this time over the previously-undefeated Hartford Hurricanes, 35-28, Saturday night at Alumni Field in Rutland. For the second week in a row, the Bulldogs weathered the storm from a worthy foe, and got the job done in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs broke a 28-28 tie with 2:19 left to play when quarterback Jack McCoy found Carter Cave with a 6-yard touchdown pass. CLICK HERE for the full story.
Special Olympics Honors BBA as a Unified Champion School
In early October, Special Olympics announced that Burr and Burton has earned national recognition as a Unified Champion School. Click here for the full press release from Special Olympics.
Portraits of BBA
The Visual Art Foundations class and Design Foundations class created self portraits, which are on display in the Seminary main hallway. The description of the exhibit says, "The portraits in this exhibit convey the unique outlook, style, and message of both their subjects and the artists who made them. Viewers will notice mature themes of human freedom and struggle, identity and loss, logic and love, heritage and hope. Coming from each grade, students in both the Visual Art Foundations and Design Foundations courses combined time-tested design principles and technical skills to create each unique portrait. Their use of practical materials, academic knowledge, and design techniques conveys art that crosses curricular boundaries and integrates universal truths about the human experience."
It's time to shout your news from the rooftops!
Well, if not from the rooftops, at least from the Class Note pages of the next issue of The VIEW. New job? New house? New spouse? New baby? Or, have you retired? Did you write a book? Take a really cool hike? Or connect with other Burr and Burton alumni? Tell us about it by emailing alumni@burrburton.org. And, don't forget to include a photo!
