  • Aya Addington '26 named as semi-finalist in US Presidential Scholars Program

    The 627 U.S. Presidential Scholars semifinalists have been announced from the more than 3.7 million nominees nationwide. Vermont has seven of those semifinalists in this highly selective and prestigious program. Later this summer, the U.S. Department of Education will announce the two finalists from each state.

    On May 30th, BBA will host the annual BBA Film Festival and Awards Ceremony. There will be a full afternoon of movie screenings in the Riley Center from 2 pm to 6 pm, followed by an Awards Ceremony and Reception in the student center with live music.

  • Senior Car Parade!

    Let's celebrate the class of 2026 with the Senior Car Parade! On June 4, participants will begin lining up at 5:00 p.m. at Riley Rink. The procession will depart at 5:30 p.m., heading south on Route 7, continuing through the roundabout near Northshire Bookstore, and proceeding directly to BBA. Go, Bulldogs!
  • The Expo is next week!

    In one week, Burr and Burton will host the first annual Integration Expo, a school-wide celebration of student creativity, inquiry, collaboration, and innovation.
     
    The Expo will feature more than 50 exhibits, performances, demonstrations, and interactive presentations across campus, highlighting student work from science, humanities, arts, engineering, entrepreneurship, music, global studies, and more. Exhibits and installations will remain on display through Friday, May 22.

  • Environmental Chemistry and Literature Students Learn About Planning for Resilience in Vermont Forests

    Mountain Campus students in the sophomore Environmental Chemistry and Literature course visited community partner Merck Forest and Farmland Center this week for two mornings of service learning focused on soil health, as well as a forest walk to learn about Merck’s adaptive management planning in the face of changing forests.

    Laura Callen Awarded Fellowship to Advance Student Resilience

    BBA English teacher Laura Callen has been awarded a two-year fellowship through the Rowland Foundation to develop an innovative approach to building and measuring student resilience across the school community. The Rowland Foundation’s mission is to invest in Vermont teachers to positively change the culture and climate of schools; each year it awards up to six fellowships to educators across the state.

  • Environmental Chemistry and Literature Takes to the Rivers

    This week, 30 students in the Mountain Campus Environmental Chemistry and Literature course took to local rivers to investigate water quality, shifts in natural systems, and the human impacts of environmental change. Students began with field research at Utley Brook, adjacent to the BBA Mountain Campus, where they measured water depth, velocity, and nutrient levels before analyzing their findings in the Mountain Campus lab. They then traveled to Weston and Londonderry—communities impacted by recent flooding—to learn how residents are adapting to changes in the local environment.
