Bulldogs spent time outdoors on a walk to hunt for spring ephemerals, cleaning up Barnumville Road, and removing invasive species from our cross country course at Skinner Farm. Students met with legislators from the Vermont Statehouse to understand the bills moving through our government. These bills update our land use policy, mitigate flooding through ecosystem preservation, and update renewable energy goals. In the art room students block printed t-shirts repurposed from thrift shops and students in science learned about eco-driving by measuring and comparing tailpipe emissions from different vehicles. Students in a variety of courses heard from Vermont Natural Resources Council and the Connecticut River Conservancy to learn the status dams that are scheduled for removal in Vermont before watching the film DamNation, a look into opening up rivers to salmon migration in the West.
